A little over three hours to go…

NaNoWriMo begins at midnight.

I won’t be waiting up, though. It’s a marathon, after all, not a sprint. It’s a crazy busy day tomorrow, so I may not begin until Saturday. But once I do, expect a virtual flood of words. I will use the newly created NaNoWriMo category to stream the novel as it takes shape straight to you, my beloved readers. Enjoy!

As I stare down the commencement of writing-a-palooza, there are a few things I’m worried about:

1) Finishing too early.

Don’t make a joke. This is what happened to me last time. I picked a story that I thought was short enough to finish in a month and I was right. Unfortunately, I finished more than ten thousand words short of the NaNoWriMo finish line (I kind of cheated and just kept writing to “finish”). I’m hoping that doesn’t happen again.

2) Chronology.

I’ve never written something so long…in order. I usually jump around by scenes. So trying to write the whole story in order so that readers can follow it will present something of a challenge. Again, I didn’t do this last time.

And 3) It sucking.

It would not be the first time I started a novel and then realized it wasn’t going to work out. It would, however, be the first time this had happened publicly. So that would be, um, embarrassing.

Alright, enough talking about it. Stay tuned everyone.
